Impact Illinois is a strong defensive team but has a slight weakness defending the perimeter, and Pickett took full advantage of that Tuesday. Pickett is an incredible scorer at 18.1 ppg in a tough Big Ten conference, but he does most of his damage inside the arc, as he hadn't registered more than three three-pointers this season prior to this matchup. With a 10-for-11 mark inside the perimeter, Pickett was able to have his way on Penn State's home court and lead the Nittany Lions to a significant victory, though the squad still has some work to do to get on the right side of the NCAA Tournament bubble.

Impact Pickett was able to take and make more shots as he scored over 20 points for the first time in five games. Seeing as he's also among the conference's top-10 in rebounds and a leader in assists, Pickett's lack of consistency in scoring isn't always a major issue as long as he's not turning over the ball.
