GAME LOG

Closes campaign with excellent play Cleveland posted 32 points (11-24 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 8-9 FT), five rebounds, one assist and four blocks over 36 minutes during Saturday's 72-70 victory over North Carolina State.
Impact Cleveland put up a show in the season-ending win over NC State, although this impressive 32-point output didn't change the team's outlook, as Miami finished dead last in the ACC standings with a 7-24 record overall and a 3-17 record in conference play, meaning the Hurricanes didn't qualify for the ACC Tournament. As for Cleveland, he finished the 2024-25 campaign with a career-high average of 17.6 points per game. He also posted 4.4 boards, 1.7 assists, 0.8 rebounds and 0.8 steals per contest.

Excellent in return to lineup Cleveland had 29 points (11-19 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 4-7 FT), seven rebounds, three assists, one block and three steals across 36 minutes during Tuesday's 89-74 loss to Georgia Tech.
Impact Cleveland returned to the starting unit after coming off the bench in the 92-73 loss to UNC on March 1, but he's been absolutely dominant in his two outings since returning from a two-game absence in late February. Cleveland heads into the final game of the regular season against NC State on Saturday with strong averages of 21.4 points, 4.6 boards, 3.3 assists and a combined 2.2 steals-plus-blocks since the beginning of February (seven outings).

Rejoins starting five Cleveland is listed amongst Miami's starting five ahead of Tuesday's game against Georgia Tech.
Impact Cleveland will make his return to the starting five after making his return from a leg injury off the bench against UNC this weekend. The 6-foot-7 senior has appeared in 27 games this season (19 starts), averaging 16.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.7 blocks on 29.9 minutes per game.

Leading scorer in return Cleveland (leg) ended Saturday's 92-73 loss to North Carolina with 25 points (12-21 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT), five rebounds, five assists, two blocks and a steal in 34 minutes.
Impact Cleveland returned from a two-game absence Saturday, leading the Hurricanes with 25 points in the eventual loss. The senior is now averaging 16.3 points and 4.3 rebounds across 29.7 minutes in 26 games this season.
MARCH 1 • ROTOWIRE
DNP vs. Virginia Tech Cleveland did not play in Saturday's game against Virginia Tech due to a leg injury, Christopher Stock of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact Cleveland was forced to miss his first matchup of the season as he tends to a leg injury. The senior guard will aim to be back for Tuesday's clash against Duke. He has totaled 54 points a nd 12 assists across his last three performances.
FEBRUARY 22 • ROTOWIRE
Poor shooting display Cleveland finished with 14 points (3-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 7-8 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one block in 36 minutes during Wednesday's 74-66 loss to Florida State.
Impact Cleveland was one of the top players for Miami in this game, but there's no question his shooting line was subpar, to put it nicely. Cleveland has been a reliable scoring weapon for Miami all season long, but he's trending in the wrong direction of late. Over his last two contests, he's shooting a meager 23.3 percent from the floor.

Propels Miami to victory with 32 Cleveland ended Tuesday's 91-84 victory over Syracuse with 32 points (10-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 10-12 FT), three rebounds, five assists, two blocks and three steals over 38 minutes.
Impact Despite playing for a lousy Miami team, Cleveland has become one of the most prolific scorers in the country. He's logged 21 or more points in seven consecutive contests, averaging 26.4 ppg over that span. Even without an optimistic postseason outlook, Cleveland should continue to be an elite producer down the stretch as he sets his sights on the next level.

Solid output despite loss Cleveland produced 27 points (10-17 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 7-8 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one block in 36 minutes during Wednesday's 82-71 loss to Virginia.
Impact After a four-game stretch in which he came off the bench between Nov. 30 and Dec. 10, Cleveland has been outstanding for the Hurricanes. The last four games, though, he's taken things to a whole new level with 23 or more points in each of those outings. Cleveland is averaging 21.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.2 blocks per game since the beginning of January.
JANUARY 31 • ROTOWIRE
Another big day Cleveland ended with 30 points (9-19 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 9-9 FT), eight rebounds and three assists in 36 minutes during Saturday's 98-94 OT loss to California.
Impact Cleveland oddly came off the bench after starting nine games in a row for the Hurricanes, but unlike teammate Lynn Kidd -- who didn't play at all -- it was largely business as usual. In fact, it was the second time in three games Cleveland surpassed 30 points and also his second-best scoring total of the year. Miami will remain bottom feeders in the ACC in 2024-25, but all signs point to continued production from Cleveland as he sets his sights on the next level.
JANUARY 26 • ROTOWIRE
Scores 23 points in loss Cleveland recorded 23 points (7-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 8-11 FT), two rebounds, two blocks and one steal over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 88-51 loss to Stanford.
Impact Cleveland scored more than half of Miami's total point haul, which goes to say how important he was for the team in this win. The Hurricanes haven't had a good season, but Cleveland remains a solid fantasy contributor. He's scored at least 20 points in six of his last nine appearances.
JANUARY 23 • ROTOWIRE
Racks up 31 in blowout loss Cleveland amassed 31 points (11-17 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 9-10 FT), three rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 35 minutes during Saturday's 117-74 loss to SMU.
Impact It was the big-time performance fantasy managers have been waiting for, especially after a dreadful outing Tuesday against Duke in which Cleveland mustered just two points. The bounce-back effort brought his season-long scoring average up to last year's mark, but unfortunately for Cleveland and the Hurricanes, Saturday was their 14th defeat in their last 15 contests, and there's little optimism in sight. There simply isn't a reliable secondary scoring option with Nijel Pack sidelined indefinitely by a foot injury, which allows opposing defenses to key in on Cleveland.
JANUARY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Scores team-high 16 points Cleveland ended Wednesday's 80-65 loss to Florida State with 16 points (6-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-9 FT), five rebounds and one steal across 33 minutes.
Impact Cleveland was the only starter, and one of two players, who scored in double digits for Miami in this 15-point loss. The former FSU player is experiencing a downgrade in his stats this season, but he remains one of the few bright spots for Miami as a senior.
JANUARY 9 • ROTOWIRE
Another 21-point effort Cleveland chipped in 21 points (7-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 4-7 FT), two rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal over 34 minutes during Saturday's 86-85 loss to Virginia Tech.
Impact Cleveland endured a slow start to the season, but he's been playing well of late and seems to be turning things around. He's scored at least 20 points in three of his last four games, a span in which he's averaging 21.3 points per contest while shooting 52.7 percent from the floor and 50 percent from beyond the arc.

Cleveland leads Miami (FL) against Virginia Tech after 21-point showing

Miami (FL) faces the Virginia Tech Hokies after Matthew Cleveland scored 21 points in the Hurricanes' 78-68 loss to the Boston College Eagles
JANUARY 4 • Associated Press
Excellent all-around performance Cleveland logged 21 points (7-17 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), six rebounds, one assist, three blocks and one steal across 32 minutes during Wednesday's 78-68 loss to Boston College.
Impact Cleveland has been outstanding since returning to the starting lineup three games ago, scoring at least 19 points and grabbing at least five rebounds in each game. He's undoubtedly going through his most productive stretch of the campaign.
