Headed for extended absence Timberlake is set to miss the first 3-to-5 weeks of the season after sustaining a right ankle injury in practice, Manny Navarro of The Athletic reports.

Impact A top-40 recruit out of high school, Timberlake is a player head coach Jim Larranaga has very high hopes for. A couple of weeks ago Larranaga said he was working Timberlake out at four different positions in practice. Clearly a versatile player, Timberlake's injury news will leave a gaping hole in the depth of Miami's bench for the next month or so.

Cleared to return Walker (knee) will play in Sunday's game against North Florida, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Impact Walker has been progressing through a knee injury over the last few weeks and has officially cleared the final hurdle in order to play. Walker averaged 3.3 points and 2.1 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per game last season but is destined to take a big leap in his sophomore year as a projected starter in the frontcourt.

Impact Walker will be healthy enough to return to practice slightly earlier than anticipated. He's been dealing with a knee injury, but he'll rejoin the team with just over a week remaining until the first game of the regular season. Walker's status for the season opener against North Florida on Nov. 28 still isn't known.
