Norchad Omier - Opening-round status uncertain Omier (ankle) is day-to-day heading into Miami's NCAA Tournament matchup against Drake on Friday night, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Impact Omier lasted only one minute in Miami's ACC Tournament semifinal loss to Duke before going down with an ankle injury. The sophomore transfer from Arkansas State has enjoyed a stellar year in his move to a high-major program, as he leads the Hurricanes in rebounding (9.7 rpg) and has the third-best scoring average on the team (13.6 ppg). Miami's opening-round opponent, Drake, has the third-best defensive rebounding rate in the country, as well as a 6-10 senior in Darnell Brodie roaming the paint. If Omier can't go, Miami would be at a significant disadvantage and have to rely on the likes of Anthony Walker and freshman AJ Casey to man the five.

Miller should be one of the team's go-to players Friday against Duke.
