Norchad Omier - Productive despite foul trouble Omier started and had 10 points (5-7 FG), seven rebounds, two blocks and two steals across 21 minutes in Sunday's 89-55 exhibition victory over IUP.
Impact Omier appears to have earned himself a spot in the starting lineup alongside fifth-year senior Jordan Miller in the frontcourt, which wasn't necessarily a lock following his transfer from Arkansas State. It will be a big ask to repeat the stellar 17.9 ppg and 12.1 rpg numbers from a season ago now that he's in a power conference, but the minutes should still be there due to Miami's general lack of frontcourt depth. Omier should see plenty of minutes in the current small-ball lineup, with 6-9 forward Anthony Walker available to spell him should foul trouble become an issue. That was the case Sunday, as Omier picked up four personals and Walker ended up seeing slightly more minutes off the bench.

Nijel Pack - Leading distributor in exhibition Pack had 11 points (5-14 FG, 1-7 3Pt), six rebounds, six assists, two steals and a block across 30 minutes in Sunday's 89-55 exhibition victory over IUP.
Impact It's no surprise given Pack's previous stellar season at Kansas State, but he appears to have locked down a starting spot that includes the green light to shoot. He attempted the second-most field goals out of all Miami players, and even if it wasn't the most efficient shooting night, that expects to improve after he shot 43.6 percent from distance last year with the Wildcats. Pack does have to share a backcourt with another high-volume scorer in Isaiah Wong, but there should be more than enough room for both to feast, especially on lesser opponents (which was the case Sunday).

Impact Wong decided to forego the NBA Draft and return for a fourth collegiate season with the Hurricanes, and even with the addition of high-profile transfer Nijel Pack to the backcourt, he still represents a legitimate threat to lead the ACC in scoring. The junior guard put up 17.1 and 15.3 ppg in the last two seasons for the Hurricanes, and while Pack will get his shots up (and likely see some of the ball-handling), Wong still has the capability of scoring in bunches any given night.

Impact Miller is once again in line to assume the role of the starting power forward in his fifth collegiate season and second with the Hurricanes. His scoring dipped to 10.0 ppg last season after transferring from George Mason, but he's certainly capable of getting hot, as shown by two 25-point efforts last year. Miller also represents a consistent source of rebounds, as he'll be sharing a frontcourt with fellow 6-7 forward Norchad Omier in what will largely be a small-ball lineup, as the Hurricanes are lacking when it comes to true centers.

Wooga Poplar - Starts, sees high-volume Sunday Poplar had 15 points (7-15 FG, 1-4 3Pt), five rebounds, three assists and two steals across 28 minutes in Sunday's 89-55 exhibition victory over IUP.
Impact Poplar only averaged 8.6 minutes per contest in a reserve role his freshman season, but Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports believes that he could be a breakout candidate for the Hurricanes this year. Early signs appear to confirm that, as he started the exhibition game and attempted more shots than any other Miami player. While Isaiah Wong and high-profile transfer Nijel Pack will deservingly get most of the attention, Poplar is well on his way to a spot on the fantasy radar in ACC-heavy formats.

Harlond Beverly - Briefly appears in scrimmage Beverly (back) logged five minutes on the court in Sunday's 89-55 exhibition victory over IUP.
Impact It was reported two weeks ago that Beverly had been missing practice time while tending to his back injury, so it's no surprise to see the very brief run in exhibition play. He only attempted one field goal and did not otherwise record a stat. While it appears Beverly is technically cleared for game action, he's likely off the fantasy radar until he proves healthy enough to handle more run. Currently, the 6-6 guard is a far cry from the 28.7 minutes and 6.7 points that he posted back in the 2020-21 season as a regular starter.

Impact Beverly played in only four games last season before having to undergo back surgery. There is hope that he will be able to be a rotational piece on the wing this season, but the back appears to still be giving him problems.
