Scores team-high 12 pointsTimberlake posted 12 points (3-13 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 6-7 FT), five rebounds, five assists, five steals and two blocks across 37 minutes in Tuesday's loss against North Carolina.
ImpactTimberlake might have done a nice job filling out the stat sheet, but he needed 13 shots to record 12 points and his woeful shooting effort can't be overlooked. Timberlake has scored more than 10 points in three of his first four appearances of the campaign and all signs would seem to indicate he'll remain in the starting lineup moving forward given how well he's started the season.

Three points off benchLove had three points (1-9 FG, 1-3 3P), four rebounds and four assists across 28 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's victory over North Carolina.
ImpactLove has now came off the bench in two of the last three games for the Tar Heels, and a 1-for-9 shooting performance with four turnovers likely won't help his case to regain that spot anytime soon. On the bright side, he still saw more minutes than four UNC starters, so it appears coach Roy Williams is still in a bit of an experimental phase with his rotation. That being said, the offense looked its best Tuesday when Leaky Black was handling the ball, so Love will definitely have to keep competing for his playing time moving forward.

Stays hot for Tar HeelsSharpe had 12 points (4-12 FG, 4-5 FT), 16 rebounds, two steals and a block across 27 minutes in Tuesday's victory over Miami.
ImpactSharpe had a career high with 25 points Saturday against Notre Dame and followed that up with a career-best rebounding total Tuesday. Over three games since entering the starting give, the freshman is averaging a double-double with 14.7 points and 10.7 rebounds. He saw more run than fellow center Armando Bacot down the stretch Tuesday, which is yet another good sign of things to come.

Role diminishingBacot had seven points (1-3 FG, 5-5 FT) and two rebounds across 21 minutes in Tuesday's victory over Miami.
ImpactWhile it's a good sign Bacot is still starting while Garrison Brooks was moved to a bench role, it was Brooks that was on the court when the game was tight down the stretch Tuesday. The bigger factor here appears to be the emergence of Day'Ron Sharpe, who logged 12 points and 16 rebounds across 27 minutes. The inconsistent UNC rotation isn't helping Bacot, who has yet to record a double-double in four ACC games. He's also been limited to single-digit scoring in back-to-back games.

Driving factor in victoryBlack had 16 points (6-9 FG, 4-4 3Pt, 0-2 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and two steals across 34 minutes in Tuesday's 67-65 victory over Miami.
ImpactRoy Williams and the Tar Heels are very much still in the process of figuring out their rotation, but Black was the only player to see 30-plus minutes in this contest. The veteran wing paid that off by contributing in every category while more than doubling his season-long scoring averages. Black has upped his rebounding by a full 1.4 rpg this season, but the biggest difference has been in his three-point shooting. He's upped that mark more than 10 percent, knocking down 36.8 percent of his threes this season.
