The Irish saw one of the tougher defensive matchups in the ACC on Sunday, plus Wertz came off the bench and saw his second-lowest minutes total of the season. Look for the Santa Clara transfer to begin gradually ramping up his minutes, though he has another tough matchup on tap Wednesday at Virginia.

Back injury surfacesPemsl missed Sunday's game against Notre Dame due to a back injury and is not expected to play Tuesday against Duke, Matt Gentry of the Roanoke Times reports.
ImpactPemsl has now missed back-to-back games for the Hokies, but reports of an injury didn't surface until after Sunday's contest. With Pemsl unavailable to provide post depth, both Keve Aluma and Justyn Mutts saw minutes in the mid-30s. It's also possible freshman David N'Guessan could be asked to take on more minutes off the bench, especially if foul trouble hits the aforementioned duo.
