Ole Miss Basketball Picks Up First Win Under Chris Beard vs. Alabama State The Ole Miss Rebels men’s basketball team overcame a sloppy first half to pick up their first win of the 2023-24 season on Monday night.

Brandon Murray - Still awaiting waiver Murray is still awaiting to hear back from the NCAA on his eligibility waiver and will not play Monday against Alabama State, Jared Redding of 247 Sports reports.

Impact Murray was one of the top transfer in the portal this past season. He is a two-time non-graduate transfer after starting his career with LSU then moving onto Georgetown last year where he averaged 13.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. There's not word on when Ole Miss might hear back on his status, but not having Murray at all this season would be a major blow to their chances to compete in the SEC with new coach Chris Beard.

Moussa Cisse - Out Monday Cisse (not injury related) will be inactive for Monday's opener against Alabama State, Jared Redding of 247Sports.com reports.

Impact Cisse has yet to receive an NCAA waiver for the 2023-24 season following his second collegiate transfer. The senior center, who appeared in 32 games (20 starts) with Oklahoma State in 2022, will need to receive NCAA clearance to appear in Friday's game against Eastern Washington.
