Daniel Jacobsen - Suffers knee injury Jacobsen suffered a knee injury in Purdue's Friday tilt with Northern Kentucky, Andy Katz of NCAA.com reports.

Impact Jacobsen's injury was reportedly knee-to-knee contact, and the forward is sitting on the bench for the Boilermakers but won't return. That's a good sign that his ailment isn't all that serious and Purdue simply wants him out of harms way in a buy game.

Impact Loyer showed that he didn't need to settle for the outside shot and was able to also attack the rim and get himself to the free-throw line. He also had one more assist in this game than Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year Braden Smith, showing that he is also capable of consistently finding open options when he attacks the rim. Loyer averaged double digit points in each of his first two seasons and should be in positions to log career highs across the board with Purdue needing guys to step up with Zach Edey out of the mix.

Impact Kaufman-Renn was highly productive in this one and showed why he could see big-time production in the Boilermaker frontcourt with Zach Edey gone. Purdue will be a hard team to deal with offensively when Kaufman-Renn plays center, but they might be a little soft defensively like they were in this one against Creighton. He didn't get many chances last year to play significant minutes, but you can bet he will see a lot of chances this season to be a focal point for this team alongside Braden Smith.

Braden Smith - Shines in exhibition game Smith put up a game-high 31 points (12-23 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 2-4 FT) and added seven rebounds, four assists and a steal in a loss to Creighton.

Impact Smith showed little doubts about him being able to be the go-to scorer for Purdue with Zach Edey gone. Smith, Fletcher Loyer and Trey Kaufman-Renn combined for 70 of Purdue's 87 points in this contest. The more concerning bit is how Purdue functions defensively without Edey clogging up the middle, but Smith is certainly has the capability in this offense to just put up monster numbers. The Boilermakers open the regular season on Nov. 4 against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
