Waiver denied Allen had his waiver for immediate eligibility in 2020-21 denied by the NCAA, Jeff Goodman of WatchStadium.com reports. Impact Allen spent just two seasons at Samford before deciding to make the leap to a high-major school on the heels of a season in which he averaged 14.1 points per game. By regular NCAA rules, he would have to sit out a year as a non-graduate transfer, but the league has often relaxed its rules this summer given the general uncertainty caused by the pandemic. That courtesy won't be extended to Allen, however, and the 6-8 wing will have to wait until 2021-22 to suit up for the Rebels.
