Back from knee injury Kalkbrenner (knee) has been cleared for basketball related activities, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Impact After sustaining a knee injury in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Kalkbrenner is now healed and can resume playing basketball. Prior to his injury, the 7-foot-1 center averaged 13.1 points and 7.7 rebounds through 29.4 minutes for the Bluejays, and he will be great to have back on the team.

He took a pair of three-pointers for the first time in six games but was unable to add another trey, the sophomore has just one make from deep on the season. He will continue to test his limits against UConn on Wednesday, where Creighton will search for its first win of March.

Records double-double in win Kalkbrenner ended Saturday's 80-66 win over Georgetown with 22 points (10-16 FG, 2-4 FT), 15 rebounds and two blocks over 32 minutes.

Impact Kalkbrenner logged a career-high for points and rebounds in a career performance Saturday. The sophomore delivered his third double-double coming off his weakest offensive game of the year against Butler on Tuesday. The Hoyas had no answer to the 7-footer as he made six of nine attempts from the field in the first half. Over 22 games this season, Kalkbrenner has made 61.8 percent of his attempts from the floor and he will look to repeat his fantastic performance against Georgetown on Monday.

Impact Kalkbrenner injured his ankle during Tuesday's game against UConn and was unable to return, but it appears he's in better shape three days later and will give it a go. Based on his presence in the starting five, the sophomore big man may be in line for his usual workload.

He blocked five shots for the fifth time this season, terrorizing Xavier in the post. The sophomore distributed a career-high four assists, but couldn't find enough hot hands to feed to get the victory. He will look to continue helping the Bluejays in versatile ways on Wednesday against St. John's.
