Hits second career homer Lopes went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the Mariners' 10-2 loss to the Angels on Tuesday.

Impact The homer was Lopes' second in 45 career games at the big-league level. He was starting for the third consecutive day, this time at DH, batting fifth. Lopes was absent from the starting lineup for the team's first two games, but the recent lineup trends are encouraging and we know Lopes can run. He stole 31 bases between Tacoma and Seattle last season.

Struggles in 2020 debut Sheffield (0-1) allowed four runs on three hits and four walks while striking out two over three innings in a loss to the Angels on Tuesday.

Impact The Angels drove up Sheffield's pitch count, forced him from the game early and the piled on for six additional runs against the Seattle bullpen. Sheffield has a very good slider, but he's still working to refine his command and control and develop his third pitch (the changeup). Hopefully this will be a growth year for the lefty. Risk-averse fantasy players will probably want to watch and see from afar.

Scores in win over Seattle Blessing scored a goal, took three shots (two on target) and created four chances in Monday's 4-1 win over Seattle Sounders.

Impact Blessing was a bit fortunate as his deflected effort left the keeper with no chance. He's played every minute of the tournament so far and now has a goal and two assists to show for it. LAFC will face Orlando City in the quarterfinals on Friday.

Provides assist in loss Jones played 19 minutes off the bench, created three chances and picked up an assist in Monday's 4-1 loss to Los Angeles FC.

Impact Jones had missed the previous two matches with a hamstring issue so he will be relieved to contribute in his first game back. He played a beautiful cross that was finished off by Will Bruin for Seattle's only goal. He will hope to get back in the starting lineup when the regular season resumes.

Impact Leyva played just 11 minutes in the first three contests, so his absence doesn't change much for Seattle's roster in the knockout stages. He'll hope to recover in time for whenever league play resumes in MLS, if it does.

Impact Devenski was called on to preserve a 5-4 lead in the eighth inning of Sunday's game, but he was unable to contain the Mariners as he picked up the loss and blown save. The right-hander posted a 4.83 ERA and 1.30 WHIP over 69 innings with the Astros last season and isn't expected to pitch in many high-leverage situations this year.
