Should see ample playing time Fraley enters the Mariners' summer camp projected for plenty of time in the outfield during the 2020 season, Corey Brock of The Athletic reports. Impact The team placed Mitch Haniger (back) on the 60-day injured list Sunday, leaving them relatively thin on outfielders with prior major-league experience. Fraley isn't exactly long on that himself, but he did log 12 games with Seattle last season before seeing what was supposed to be a longer tenure cut short by a sprained thumb. The 25-year-old has versatility on his side as well, as he garnered plenty of experience playing all three outfield spots during his time in the minors. Brock predicts Fraley could see most of his time in right field, but adds that he'll certainly have to prove more capable of consistently hitting big-league arms after slashing .150/.171/.200 over 41 plate appearances in 2019 and generating a modest .231 (6-for-26) average across 10 Cactus League contests before spring training was suspended.
