Impact Soriano tied his career-high in points and had his best offensive night since transferring. He has shown a massive improvement in his free-throw shooting this season, and it was on full display when he went to the line in overtime to complete a three-point play. He has made 83.3 percent of his free throws this season with St. John's, whereas he made just 58.1 percent during his time with Fordham. The junior has averaged 8.8 points, six rebounds and 1.2 assists through the first six games this season.

This is a good sign he is coachable as he was never a premier passer in Vermont where he averaged 2.6 assists in his best passing year. At St. John's he has shown clear chemistry with Julian Champagnie, the two had six assists to each other on the night. In addition to all of the passing success, the senior had his best night shooting since transferring. He will look to stoke the embers of this performance into a flame against the Highlanders on Saturday.
