Impact Johnson suffered an ankle injury during Texas' exhibition game on Oct. 31. Though the Longhorns began their newest season without him, he did not have to log multiple DNPs. The 6-foot-5 wing began his collegiate career as a Texas reserve Friday. But because the Longhorns have Tyrese Hunter and Ithiel Horton available, Johnson is not expected to be part of their starting lineup any time soon until further notice.

Impact The highly-decorated transfer from Oral Roberts led the Longhorns in scoring, shooting 50% and contributing five assists for the second consecutive game. It is highly unlikely Abmas will contribute 20+ points per game as he has in his previous three seasons both due to a step up in competition and a far superior supporting cast, but Abmas remains one of the top guards in the country.

Dylan Disu - Out Friday, no timetable Disu (foot) is out for Friday's matchup against Delaware State and does not have a timetable for return, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact Disu is an impactful player who will almost undoubtedly regain a starting spot at some point this season, but the lack of a timetable nearly eight months after suffering the original injury is definitely a bit concerning. Texas next hosts Rice on Wednesday, and with Disu presumably still sidelined, the frontcourt rotation should continue to see a lot of Dillon Mitchell, Ze'Rik Onyema and Kadin Shedrick.

It is not expected to be a regular feature of Hunter's game, considering he never logged more than eight assists in any of the 2022-23 Texas Longhorns' games. Perhaps, that could change in his 2023-24 season, and it is expected to be a bright one for Hunter nonetheless. He averaged 10.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists across his 38 games started during Texas' 2022-23 season.

Impact By receiving medical clearance, Shedrick's next goal is to be available for when the Longhorns begin their 2023-24 season Monday against Incarnate Word. Dylan Disu (foot) remains uncleared. If his status does not change and Shedrick can play, he is expected to be the Longhorns' starting center Monday.
