Continues to dominate MarshallBassey had 24 points (9-15 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-7 FT), nine rebounds and two blocks across 33 minutes in Sunday's 69-67 victory over Marshall.
ImpactThis followed up Bassey's outstanding Friday performance in which he recorded 21 points and 19 rebounds against the Thundering Herd. After a string of solid production in non-conference play, Bassey is feasting on weaker, C-USA opposition. Through six games in league play, the 6-11 center is averaging 17.3 points and 13.0 rebounds. He's unquestionably a future NBA player that will likely give opposing power-conference teams fits in the NCAA Tournament.

Doesn't end up playingBennett (undisclosed) did not play in Sunday's game against Western Kentucky despite going through warmups.
ImpactBennett has been out since early December with an undisclosed injury but appears to be getting closer to a return. The Herd's don't play again until Jan. 22 which will give the 6-9 junior several days to hopefully practice and receive clearance ahead of the weekend series against Florida International.

Warming up ahead of gameBennett (undisclosed) was warming up ahead of Sunday's game against Western Kentucky and appeared to look pretty mobile, Grant Taylor of The Herald-Dispatch reports.
ImpactHead coach Dan D'Antoni disclosed Bennett as the only injured player heading into the Herd's game this past Friday so it's unclear if he actually has a chance to play despite warming up. The 6-9 junior hasn't played in a game since Dec. 3 and could actually see the floor Sunday to help limit big man Charles Bassey, who had 21 points and 19 rebounds in the last game for the Hilltoppers.
