Impact Scruggs once again shined in a moment where he was needed most in the win Sunday. The guard continues to impress in his senior year and put together a strong performance from the arc and line. He did fare well enough from the floor, but still could improve his shot taking to further cement his role on the team. Scruggs will continue to post points however and add assists and steals where he can. Until he drops form, he will remain a very viable option for the Musketeers.

Impact Kunkel was the hero in the win Sunday. The guard had just got cleared via waiver two weeks ago and now has led Xavier to a nail biting win to keep them at the top of the Big East. Prior to the matchup, Kunkel had not quite got adjusted yet and failed to impress. However, after this performance, he will be hoping that he can continue the form and perhaps see some starting time sooner or later.

Impact Jones will be inserted into the Musketeers' starting five with Dwon Odom (not injury related) unavailable as he's still in the team's COVID-19 protocol. Jones missed the start of the season due a foot injury but returned earlier this month and has averaged four points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 19 minutes per game. There is no firm timetable for Odom's return so Jones could see himself remain in the starting lineup for the near future.

Impact Odom presumably was part of the reason for Xavier's postponement of their initial Big East opener against Providence that was scheduled for Dec. 12. The freshman has not yet been cleared to practice nor play as he continues to make his way back from what is assumed to have been a positive COVID-19 test. Odom has started in all seven games for the Musketeers this season while averaging 6.4 points, 4.6 assists and 3.6 rebounds in 25.1 minutes per game. He's expected to be replaced by either KyKy Tandy or Colby Jones in Sunday's starting lineup.
