Impact Freemantle did not shy from shooting the ball in the season opener Wednesday. The forward went 64% on the floor and was a monster on the boards. Impact Miles had his freshman campaign halted by knee surgery, but the 6-10 forward was impressive in the 2020-21 season opener off the bench. Xavier absolutely blew the doors off Oakland, so it's not clear if Miles will get 18 minutes every game. Nevertheless, he still figures to stay a part of the rotation in some way.

Waiver request turned down Coach Travis Steele announced via Twitter that Stanley's waiver appeal for immediate eligibility has been denied.

Impact Stanley apparently moved from Hampton to Xavier in part due to the fact that they had in-person classes and it would help him receive extra help for a learning disability. Considering that and the current climate, it is quite shocking that the NCAA would deny Xavier's request. Nevertheless, Stanley won't be able to suit up in a game until the 2021-22 season.
