Out for remainder of season Fancher (collarbone) is out for the remainder of Florida Atlantic's 2024 season, FAU Owls Nest reports.

Impact Fancher suffered a broken collarbone, an injury damaging enough that he will sit out the remainder of Florida Atlantic's 2024 season. Fancher was inconsistent as a passer, completing less than 60 percent of 212 passes for 1,528 yards. The redshirt junior also logged the same amount of touchdowns and interceptions, something he also did in his 2023 season with Marshall. On the plus side, Fancher somewhat improved on the ground despite recording fewer touchdowns (three), averaging 3.7 yards with 99 carries for 365 yards.

In sling on sideline Fancher (shoulder) is wearing a sling on the sideline of Thursday's game at East Carolina, 247Sports reports.

Impact Fancher was carted off the field in the first quarter with an apparent shoulder injury, and he is now on the sidelines wearing a sling. The specific injury is currently unknown, but he will at least miss the rest of Thursday's game. Kasen Weisman is in at quarterback for the Owls.

Impact Fancher was carted off the field after taking a hard hit to his throwing shoulder. Kasen Weisman has taken over the Owls' offense in his absence. Although it's possible Fancher is able to return Thursday, the injury appears to be serious.

Solid in Friday's loss Fancher was 22-for-42 passing for 306 yards and one touchdown during Friday's 44-21 defeat against South Florida. He also had 15 rushes for 23 yards.

Impact Fancher had a decent day in Friday's loss as he threw for over 300 yards for the second time this season, both of which have come in his last three games. He also tossed one touchdown, a 63-yard pass to CJ Campbell in the third quarter. Fancher was disappointing on the ground though as he rushed for just 23 yards on 15 attempts and lost a fumble in his second straight game. However, the fact that he's flashed big passing games multiple times gives him higher upside for the rest of the season.

Good to go for Week 10 Fancher (neck) is set to return against USF on Friday, Robbie Lastella of FAU Owls Nest reports.

Impact Fancher will return to action in Week 10 after suffering whiplash during FAU's last game against UTSA prior to their bye week. The 6-foot-2 redshirt junior quarterback has thrown for 1,154 yards (100-of-164), five touchdowns and six interceptions across seven games, adding on 344 yards and three scores on the ground. Fancher will look to get back on track with the Owls this Saturday against the Bulls.

Limited at practice Fancher (neck) was a limited participant at practice on Tuesday, FAU Owls Nest reports.

Impact Fancher is dealing with a neck strain as the result of whiplash that limited his activity during Tuesday's team practice. The 6-foot-2 redshirt senior will have the benefit of a bye week to recover prior to FAU's next game against the Bulls in Week 10, but his status is worth monitoring throughout practice this week.

Two rushing TDs Saturday Fancher completed 9 of 19 passes for 96 yards during Saturday's 38-24 loss versus Texas-San Antonio. He also had 15 rushes for 56 yards with two touchdowns.

Impact Fancher started Saturday's game after being questionable with a toe injury. He was unable to follow up his 350-yard, three-touchdown performance through the air, but he made up for it with a pair of rushing touchdowns on the ground. He struggled through the air though as he failed to complete 50 percent of his passes or reach 100 passing yards. It appears last week's passing explosion was a fluke, but he continues to be somewhat relevant given his upside on the ground.

Starting at UTSA Fancher (toe) will start Saturday at UTSA, national college football writer Brett McMurphy reports.

Impact Fancher was listed as questionable due to a toe injury, but he is set to start for the Owls Saturday. He is coming off his best game of the season versus North Texas where he threw for over 350 yards and three touchdowns, adding 69 yards on the ground.

Questionable for Week 8 Fancher (toe) has been designated as questionable ahead of Saturday's matchup with UTSA, FAU Owls Nest reports.

Impact Fancher is reportedly dealing with turf toe that has put his status for Saturday's game in question. The 6-foot-2 redshirt junior has appeared in all six games this season, throwing for 1,058 yards (91-of-145), five touchdowns and six interceptions, adding on 288 yards and one touchdown with his legs. Should Fancher be unable to go this weekend, it would likely be either Kasen Weisman, Tyriq Starks, or a combination of the two under center this weekend.

Impact Fancher had by far his best outing of the season Saturday, highlighted by his explosion of 351 passing yards and three touchdowns. He came into the game with a season high of 193 passing yards and had thrown just two touchdowns through five games. He was also productive on the ground as he rushed for a season-high 69 yards, his fourth game this season with at least 60 yards rushing. His lack of production to this point had been concerning, so it's unclear how to process this latest breakout. If he can maintain even close to this level of passing production, that combined with his high rushing floor gives him loads of potential.

Warming up Saturday Fancher (thumb) was seen warming up pregame and appears to be good to go ahead of Saturday's matchup against North Texas, per Brandyn Pokrass of TheLeagueWinners.com.

Impact Fancher was previously listed as questionable with a thumb injury before being confirmed as the starter for Saturday. The redshirt junior quarterback has struggled to get things going through the air for most of the season, throwing for 707 yards and two touchdowns to five interceptions through the team's first five games.

Fancher will look for a rebound performance after a rough start during his return to the field this week.

Impact After the Owls' game against Wagner on Sept. 28, Fancher underwent an MRI of his left thumb. The scan revealed a minor strain. Considering the Owls have more than 1.5 weeks before their next game, currently scheduled for Oct. 12, Fancher is expected to be available then.

Quiet in split action Fancher completed 9 of 12 passes for 150 yards and one interception during Saturday's 41-10 victory versus Wagner.

Impact Fancher split snaps with Karen Weisman Saturday and was not able to do much. He was efficient throwing the ball as he completed 75 percent of his passes and threw for 150 yards on just 12 attempts, but he also threw his fifth interception of the season. He also surprisingly only rushed one time, but he could have just been saving his legs against a weaker opponent. It's unclear what the Owls are going to do at quarterback moving forward, but Fancher is at best on the hot seat as the current starter.

Struggles in loss to UConn Fancher was 9-for-15 passing for 87 yards and one interception during Saturday's 48-14 defeat against Connecticut. He also had eight rushes for 71 yards.

Impact Fancher set season lows in passing attempts, completions and yards Saturday as he didn't hit the century mark in passing yards. He also failed to throw a touchdown for the second straight week and threw his fourth interception of the season. He had another nice day on the ground with 71 yards on nearly nine yards per attempt, but he will not produce enough unless he puts up better numbers through the air.

Good to go for Week 4 Fancher is dealing with a finger injury but is reportedly good to go for FAU's Week 4 matchup with UConn, FAU Owls Nest reports.

Impact Fancher has had an uneven season to this point as Florida Atlantic's starter, tossing for 470 yards, two scores and three interceptions through two games. His finger issue hasn't held him out of games thus far, and it appears it won't be an issue against the Huskies on Saturday.

Solid outing in win Fancher completed 14 of 26 passes for 161 yards during Saturday's 38-20 win against Florida International. He also had 14 rushes for 64 yards with one touchdown.

Impact While Fancher threw for just 162 yards and did not throw a touchdown, he made up for it with his production on the ground. He rushed 14 times for 64 yards and scored a 12-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter. While his passing production has not been great through three weeks, his rushing upside gives him solid value, especially against weaker opponents.

Impact Although Fancher did not have a great performance, it was a clear improvement on his Week 1 outing. He completed over 67 percent of his passes and found Omari Hayes for an eight-yard touchdown late in the first half, the Owls' only points of the game. It's been a fairly rough start to the 2024 season for Fancher, but he will have to throw the ball early and often throughout the rest of the season so he has a chance to put up solid numbers.

Impact Fancher completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes Friday and threw two interceptions, but still somehow lost by just one possession to Michigan State. Much of his production came on the ground where he gained 67 yards despite being sacked seven times. Although it was not the ideal opener, he showed some promise that he may be able to produce, especially on the ground, against worse defenses in conference play.

Will start at Michigan State Fancher will be Florida Atlantic's starting quarterback at Michigan State on Aug. 30, FAU Owls Nest reports.

Impact Fancher and Tyriq Starks were competing to be Florida Atlantic's starting quarterback. Considering the former led their QB battle as of Aug. 10, it should not be surprising he won out, especially with his experience compared to that of his competitor. Fancher completed 336 passes for 3,766 yards while enrolled at Marshall. However, there is some possibility his leash as starting quarterback is short, taking into account a 21:17 TD:INT ratio that requires much-needed improvement.

Leading QB battle Fancher is currently leading the starting quarterback battle and according to head coach Tom Herman stated "If we played Michigan State today Cam would start," FAU Owls Nest report...

Impact Fancher is appearing to be the guy who will start behind center for the Owls as they take on Michigan State later in August. Taking that into account, Herman also didn't shut down the idea that play caller Tyriq Starks could take the role before then. The coming weeks will decide who starts this season, but as of now Fancher will likely assume the position.
