Paul Tyson - Giving up eligibility Tyson will forgo his final season of eligibility in 2024 but will remain with the Clemson program as a student-coach, Chapel Fowler of The Columbia State reports. Impact Tyson began his collegiate career at Alabama in 2019, but because he took a redshirt that season and received an extra year of eligibility due to the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the 2020 season, he would have had the option of playing a sixth year of college football in 2024. Instead, Tyson will turn his focus to coaching, though he'll continue to stay on top of workouts in case injuries hit the Clemson quarterback room this fall and he's needed as a depth option. Over his five-year collegiate career that included a three-year stint with Alabama and one-year stints at Arizona State and Clemson, Tyson appeared in 17 career games and completed 13 of 20 pass attempts for 192 yards and one touchdown.
