TJ Sheffield - Explodes in win over Owls Sheffield tallied nine receptions (on 10 targets) for 141 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 29-20 win versus Temple.

Impact It was the best day for the Purdue transfer in a UConn jersey. Sheffield previous best in a game came in 2023 as a Boilermaker against Iowa with six catches for 93 yards and a touchdown. The senior could have a shot at another big game on Oct. 19 against Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons defense is near the bottom against the pass in the country.

Cam Edwards - Could not do much with carries Edwards compiled 15 carries for 40 yards and reeled in 2 of 5 targets for 17 yards during Saturday's 29-20 victory against Temple.

Impact Edwards had plenty of opportunities but could not cash in. The redshirt sophomore though is more than halfway in surpassing last season's numbers where he had 618 rushing yards while this season has accumulated 320 yards on the ground. He could rebound in the next contest, Oct. 19 against Wake Forest's defense who are in the bottom quarter of the country against the run.

Joe Fagnano - Leads the way in relief Fagnano completed 24 of 41 passes for 272 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions during Saturday's 29-20 win over Temple. He also had seven rushes for negative three yards.

Impact It was Fagnano's best game as a starter this season against a FBS team. He threw for 328 yards and five touchdowns against FCS Merrimack on Sept. 7. The lone negative against Temple was the two interceptions. With a bye week this coming weekend, Fagnano might return as the backup with a possible return of starting quarterback Nick Evers with head injury. If he does start on Oct. 19 against Wake Forest, the senior could be in for a big game against Demon Deacons whose defense is near the bottom against the pass in the country.

Durell Robinson - Struggles 2nd week in a row Robinson compiled 12 carries for 52 yards and one touchdown and caught all two targets for one yard during Saturday's 29-20 victory versus Temple.

Impact While Robinson got into the end zone, he has not been able to build on the momentum that the freshman collected on Sept. 21 against Florida Atlantic. Against the Owls he ran for 156 yards and two touchdowns. He could rebound in the next contest, Oct. 19 against Wake Forest's defense who are in the bottom quarter of the country against the run.

Impact Evers will miss his second game of the season after suffering an apparent head injury last week against Buffalo. The redshirt sophomore threw for a season-low 51 yards and will give way to Joe Fagnano who threw for 217 yards and three touchdowns in relief of Evers. The team will have two weeks until their next game against Wake Forest on Oct. 19.

Impact Evers was lost for the game after taking a knee by a defensive player to the head in the second quarter. He suffered a concussion when UConn played at Maryland on Aug. 31. Since he has two head injuries this season, the junior will probably miss this Saturday's game against Temple. Jim Fagnano is expected to fill in for Evers.

Jayden Brown - First TD as Husky Brown notched 10 rushes for 53 yards and one touchdown and reeled in all two targets for 34 yards during Saturday's 47-3 win against Buffalo.

Impact The Gardner-Webb transfer registered his first UConn touchdown, a 23-yard touchdown scamper in the fourth quarter against Buffalo. Brown has a chance to add another this Saturday against Temple whose rush defense is at the bottom in the country against the run.

Impact Bell did something that hasn't been done in a Huskies' jersey since 1996 where Dak Newton had three receiving touchdowns against Villanova. The junior will have a tougher time on the receiving end against Temple this Saturday. The Owls defense is in the top 10 in the country against the pass.

Impact Robinson continues to lead the Huskies in rushing. The redshirt freshman has collected 369 rushing yards on a very good 8.6 yards per attempt. He should add to his total this Saturday against Temple whose rush defense is at the bottom in the country against the run.

Impact McDonald came into the fourth quarter after the game was in control. The Huskies are trying to get the true freshman any time on the field that they can. If UConn can play this Saturday's opponent, Temple, like they did against Buffalo, he will see time on the field.

Joe Fagnano - Excels in victory Fagnano was 11-for-19 passing for 217 yards and three touchdowns during Saturday's 47-3 victory versus Buffalo. He also had six rushes for 19 yards.

Impact Fagnano came in the second quarter as starting quarterback Nick Evers was injured with nine minutes left in the first half. It was the best performance against an FBS team this season. If Fagnano is under center against Temple (Oct. 7), he will have a tougher time throwing the ball aganst the Owls defense that is in the top 10 in the country against the pass. It will probably be a running game on offense as Temple is at the bottom in the country against the run.
