Impact Evers will start under center for the Huskies on Saturday "if he has a good week", according to head coach Jim Mora. The 6-foot-3 redshirt sophomore, who transferred in from Wisconsin after making a previous stop with Oklahoma, threw for 73 yards (6-for-17) and one interception before leaving UConn's season opener against Maryland. If Evers is unable to suit up this weekend. Joseph Fagnano, who has made the most of Evers' absence, would be the Huskies' backup option.

Victor Rosa - Out at Duke Rosa is out for UConn's game Saturday at Duke due to a finger injury, Dom Amore of The Hartford Courant reports.

Impact Rosa has a broken finger that he will undergo surgery to repair Wednesday, that day confirmed by Gavin Keefe of The Day. Fortunately for UConn, he should be available the week after. The team is expected to host Florida Atlantic then, exactly Sept. 21.

Impact Robinson now has led the Huskies in rushing in the first two weeks for a total of 128 yards. The redshirt freshman will have a tougher time on the ground on Saturday (Sept. 14) against Duke. The Blue Devils defense against the run last season was in the top 50 in the country.

Robinson, whose 2023 season ended prematurely after an undisclosed injury, transferred from Charlotte where he carried the ball 40 times for 166 yards and a touchdown. Despite Robinson received the most carries, the Huskies backfield is still in flux.

Impact The senior was adequate going 8-for-16 for 149 yards and one touchdown against Maryland. It was his first touchdown pass for the Huskies. If Fagnanon is under center for the next game, he should have good production against Division 1 FCS Merrimack on Sept. 7. In his first season at Connecticut in 2023, Fagnano played in two games and completed 18-of-35 for 173 yards. Before transferring to Connecticut, he played parts of four seasons at Maine.
