Current status too early to tell Penn State's head coach James Franklin announced that the availability of Allar (knee) is "too early to tell" Monday, Max Ralph of PennLive.com reports.

Impact Allar did not play during the second half of Penn State's game Saturday at Wisconsin. He may have to sit out a whole game, which is why the Nittany Lions are considering giving first-team reps to Beau Pribula and Ethan Grunkemeyer. That is not to say Allar will be unavailable though, and he has more than half a week before they play again.

Impact Allar left the game moments before halftime and has been observed in the sidelines but has yet to enter the game. In his absence, Beau Pribula has been working under center.

Heads to locker room Allar was observed heading to the locker room in Saturday's game against Wisconsin, Richard Scarcella of the Reading Eagle reports.

Impact Allar was forced to exit the game after taking a hit right before halftime. The junior quarterback was observed standing in the sidelines but has not re-entered the game. He completed 14 of 18 passes for 148 yards and one touchdown prior to his exit.

Keeps firing in OT win Allar was 30-for-43 passing for 391 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions during Saturday's 33-30 overtime win against USC. He also had four rushes for 32 yards.

Impact Allar had an erratic performance in what was a chaotic game across the board for both the Nittany Lions and the Trojans. The junior quarterback threw a career-high three interceptions in this wire-to-wire shootout, including two during the Nittany Lions' comeback in the second half. But, he also found his top-two playmakers for scores, throwing touchdown passes of 32 and 14 yards to tight end Tyler Warren and running back Nicholas Singleton, respectively. Penn State's offense hasn't had a wide receiver step up this season, but Warren has filled the gap in a way that few could, as the 6-foot-6 senior tied an FBS record for tight ends with 17 catches (on 20 targets) for 224 yards. He and Allar also connected on a two-yard pass into the end zone on their opening offensive series, but this score was nullified by a penalty. Penn State will get a much-needed break with a bye in Week 8 before regrouping for a road game at Wisconsin on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Scores twice in easy win Allar completed 17 of 24 passes for 237 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 27-11 victory versus UCLA. He also had four rushes for negative three yards with one touchdown.

Impact Allar found the end zone twice after being held without a touchdown during last week's sluggish win against Illinois. The 6-foot-5 junior first scored, and got the Nittany Lions on the board, with a one-yard rushing touchdown midway through the second quarter. He scored against shortly thereafter with a five-yard touchdown pass to tight end Tyler Warren just before halftime. Allar also remained highly efficeint and explosive as a passer, as he's now completed 70.9 percent of his passes for 10.7 yards per attempt this season. Penn State's star running back Nicholas Singleton was also held out with a last-minute illness Saturday. Allar will look to keep his strong junior campaign rolling with or without Singleton at his side during this coming Saturday's road game at USC.

Impact Allar powered the Nittany Lions' offense to a dominant win just two weeks after they struggled against Bowling Green. After a slow start, the 6-foot-5 signal-caller ripped off two touchdowns in the final two minutes of the first half, hitting wideout Liam Clifford with a dart for a 14-yard touchdown pass before scrambling for a five-yard touchdown with 15 seconds left in the half. After extending the lead to 35-0 with a 59-yard dart to Omari Evans early in the third, he then turned the reins over to backup Beau Pribula for the remainder of the game. Penn State's early sample size appears to indicate that the offense will be one of the most explosive units in the Big Ten, and Allar's arm strength and athleticism will allow him to put up some highlight scoring plays en route to what should be the most productive season of his career. The Nittany Lions' first conference test will come versus Illinois on Saturday, Sept. 28.
