Impact McCall got hurt in the Week 3 contest against Louisiana Tech and missed the rest of that contest, but he also sat out the Week 4 matchup against Clemson. Things aren't improving for the signal-caller, and now the earliest he might return will be a Week 6 contest against Wake Forest. Expect CJ Bailey to make another start with McCall out.

Impact McCall came in off the bench for North Carolina State and offered 54 yards through the air. Though CJ Bailey was the starter, he didn't perform all that well and McCall was utilized as well. He was clearly healthy enough to see the field, and given Bailey's underwhelming performance against a lesser team, the Wolfpack should aim to return McCall to his starting role as soon as possible.

Impact McCall being the Wolfpack's starting quarterback Thursday should be no surprise, considering he was who they set their sights on early as a proven replacement for graduate Brennan Armstrong. The successor was Coastal Carolina's primary QB for four years. From 2020 to 2022, he logged at least 2,500 passing yards and 30 touchdowns. So even though a head injury limited him his 2023 season, the Wolfpack are confident McCall's experience will help them succeed during 2024.
