Stellar performance in win McCall (leg) returned to action during Saturday's 34-30 win over Georgia Southern, NCAAF Nation 247 reports.

Impact McCall was stellar on Saturday, despite suffering an ankle injury against Georgia State the week prior. The junior quarterback threw for 335 yards (23-of-34), three touchdowns, while rushing for 34 yards and one score. McCall has been fantastic for the Chanticleers this season, throwing for 1,336 yards, 14 touchdowns and one interception, while leading Coastal Carolina to a perfect 5-0 record. The 6-foot-3 quarterback will look to continue his prolific production this Saturday against UL Monroe.

Impact McCall exited Thursday's contest against Georgia State with an apparent leg injury, but his ability to practice in a limited fashion Wednesday suggests he's on track to suit up Saturday versus the Eagles. Through the team's first four games, the 6-foot-3 quarterback recorded 1,001 yards, 11 touchdowns and one interception, while he also added 29 rushes for 91 yards and two more scores in that span.

Appears to suffer leg injury McCall was helped off the field with an apparent leg injury in Thursday's game against Georgia State, David Ubben of The Athletic reports.

Impact McCall appeared to get rolled up on by a defender while throwing a pass away on the opening play of the fourth quarter. He needed assistance getting off the field and likely won't return to the game with the Chanticleers leading by multiple scores. The redshirt junior was having himself a nice game, completing 19-of-27 passes for 268 yards and two touchdowns while also running for 38 yards and a score. Bryce Carpenter replaced him and could be the starter for the foreseeable future if McCall is forced to miss extended time.

Impact McCall underwent offseason shoulder surgery and has been slowly progressing. He has been given the OK from the doctors, but the team wants to bring the veteran signal caller up to speed slowly. The two-time Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year will look to stay healthy and put together another fantastic season for Coastal Carolina in 2022.
