Pat Bryant - Quiet day against Wolverines Bryant caught 4 of 7 targets for 32 yards during Saturday's 21-7 win against Michigan.
Impact There was good news and bad news on the day for Bryant. The bad news is that he logged a season-low 32 yards on just four catches after coming off a season-high 104 yards with a touchdown in last week's overtime thriller against Purdue. The good news is that the senior receiver still led the team in targets, receptions and yards on a day in which quarterback Luke Altmyer completed just nine passes for 80 yards. A stingy Michigan defense held the Illinois offense mostly in check throughout the day, limiting opportunities for Bryant and the Illinois passing game as a whole. Better days are ahead for Bryant, though a roadtrip to Eugene to face the top-ranked Oregon Ducks presents another tough challenge this coming Saturday.

Tanner Arkin - Scores in victory Arkin posted one reception (on two targets) for two yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 21-7 win against Michigan.
Impact Arkin connected with quarterback Luke Altmyer on a two-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, giving the Fighting Illini a 13-0 lead. The junior tight end has struggled to get involved in the offensive gameplan in 2024, as he has caught more than two passes just once this season. With 11 catches for 85 yards and three scores through the team's first seven games, Arkin will hope to make his presence felt when the Fighting Illini travel to face top-ranked Oregon this Saturday.

Luke Altmyer - Multiple scores in victory Altmyer completed 9 of 18 passes for 80 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 21-7 win versus Michigan. He also had 10 rushes for 48 yards with one touchdown.
Impact Altmyer had a quiet day through the air against a tough Michigan defense, throwing for a season-low 80 yards while completing just 50 percent of his passes on the day. Despite the sub-par passing numbers, he once again contributed on the ground, running for 48 yards and a third quarter touchdown plunge from the one yard-line to give the Fighting Illini a two-touchdown lead in what would be the final score of the game. Altmyer has been one of the better quarterbacks in the Big Ten this season, throwing for 1,506 yards and 15 touchdowns to just a single interception while adding 138 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground and leading the Fighting Illini to a 6-1 start to the season. The top-ranked Oregon Ducks await Altmyer and the Illinois offense this coming Saturday.
