Dealt two-game suspension Emery received a two-game suspension Sunday and plans to appeal the decision, Brody Miller of The Athletic reports.

Impact According to Miller, the ban is related to the academic suspension that prevented Emery from playing for LSU in 2021. Though Emery has reportedly been in good academic standing since Brian Kelly took over as LSU's head coach during the winter, the 5-foot-11, 220-pound running back looks like he'll remain out for games Sept. 4 against Florida State and Sept. 10 against FCS Southern unless his appeal is successful. Whenever he's formally reinstated, Emery will likely be part of a Tigers backfield committee.
