Cleared of knee issue Daniels (knee) received full medical clearance Friday, Mike Griffith of DawgNation.com reports. Impact Daniels appears to have completed his rehab for the torn ACL he suffered in USC's 2019 season opener, after which Kedon Slovis replaced him as the Trojans' starting quarterback. After Slovis thrived as a true freshman and cemented himself as the team's top option under center heading into 2020, Daniels opted to transfer to Georgia earlier in the offseason and received a waiver for immediate eligibility. He joins a quarterback room led by Wake Forest graduate transfer Jamie Newman, who is still viewed as the frontrunner to open the season as Georgia's top signal-caller. However, reports surfaced Friday suggesting that Newman is working back from an ankle injury, which could pave the way for Daniels, Stetson Bennett and D'Wan Mathis to pick up some additional reps and stake their claim to the top spot on the depth chart.
