What separated this week from past contests was his production on the ground, as the junior quarterback gained a season-high 60 yards including a 13-yard touchdown scamper early in the fourth quarter. Altmyer has been a pleasant surprise for the Fighting Illini as one of the better quarterbacks in the Big Ten through the first six games of the 2024 season, throwing for 1,426 yards and 14 touchdowns to just a single interception. A tough task against a stingy Michigan defense will put Altmyer's skills to the test on Saturday.
