Tai Lavatai - Out Saturday Lavatai is out for Saturday's game against Air Force after suffering a knee injury in the opener against Marshall.

Impact Lavatai was incredibly ineffective last week before going down with injury. Xavier Arline will get the start in his place and could have a chance to be named the starter moving forward if he capitalizes on his opportunity. It's unclear how long Lavatai could be out for.

Xavier Arline - Starting Saturday Arline is starting at quarterback in Saturday's game against Air Force, Bill Wagner of The Capital Gazette reports.

Impact Arline didn't start in the opener but played plenty after Tai Lavatai suffered a knee injury. The sophomore completed 2-of-3 passes for 26 yards and carried the ball 16 times for 76 yards and a touchdown. He was much more effective on the ground than Lavatai and could lead a more effective offense as the starter in Week 2.

Impact In a Navy offense that primarily focuses on rushing the ball, it is going to be hard for the 6-foot-5 receiver to make a major fantasy impact. However, Cooper leads the team in receiving yards and appears to be the top wide out on the roster. The team faces Air Force next week.

Impact After not receiving a carry last season, Ruoss appears to be the teams starting tailback this season and record 63 rushing yards in the team's blowout loss. Ruoss figures to split time with James Harris, Chance Warren and Carlinos Acie in Navy's rush-heavy offense throughout the season.

Xavier Arline - Scores in loss Arline rushed the ball 16 times for 76 yards and scored a touchdown while completing two out of three passes for 26 yards against Marshall.

Impact Despite not starting for the Midshipman, Arline significantly outplayed Tai Lavatai throughout the game. The 5-foot-9 quarterback was second on the team in rushing yards and led all quarterbacks in that category as well. Arline scored the teams only touchdown as well.

James Harris - Leads team in yards Harris carried the ball 11 times for 80 yards against Marshall.

Impact After primarily being a special teams player last season and not even recording a rushing attempt, Harris led Navy in rushing yards with his 80 yards on 11 attempts. The 6-foot-0 fullback averaged 7.3 yards per carry and figures to be more involved in the Midshipmen's offense this year.

Tai Lavatai - Inefficient start to the year Lavatai completed one of six attempts for eight yards while rushing 16 times for 18 yards and adding an interception against Marshall.

Impact Navy could not figure out their offense against Marshall, scoring just seven points in the game and Lavatai struggled throughout. The 6-foot-2 quarterback averaged just 1.1 yards per carry and turned the ball over as well. He suffered an apparent knee injury during the contest but was able to walk off the field under his own power, Bill Wagner of The Capital Gazette reports. It's not yet clear whether the injury will impact his availability for next week's game against Air Force.

Impact Lavatai was listed as the co-starter on the depth chart but he'll apparently get the first crack under center for the Midshipmen.The sophomore rushed for 210 yards on 59 carries and completed four of his 12 attempts in his five appearances last season.
