Impact Allar put his athletic gifts on display while making explosive plays both as a passer and a rusher Saturday. This started when he hit leading receiver Harrison Wallace in stridefor a 50-yard touchdown in the second quarter. The second-year starting quarterback then hit running back Kaytron Allen in open space for a 20-yard touchdown, and he found Wallace once again on a perfecly-placed 18-yard score just before halftime. The latter score also came after Allar completed a 55-yard completion to a wide-open Omari Evans to get down to the end zone. While it's a small sample size, this season-opening performance is in stark contrast to last year's Nittany Lions offense that simply coundn't generate explosive plays on a regular basis. Allar will look to replicate these Week 1 results when Penn State plays Bowling Green next Saturday.
