Impact The right-handed Labrum's left shoulder surgery has a lot of time to recover, considering Iowa State opted out of a bowl game that the team was eligible for in 2025. He is expected to recover in at least a few months' time while weighing his future. Becht has one year of collegiate eligibility remaining, but he may have the credentials to get selected in the 2026 NFL Draft.

On the season, he has 23 total touchdowns compared to nine interceptions. He has an excellent matchup next week as Iowa State finishes the regular season with Oklahoma State.

It's entirely possible that Iowa State leans on their run-game and defense the rest of the way. They're on a bye next week before hosting Kansas in Week 13.

Impact Becht threw a career-high three interceptions, one of them returned for a BYU touchdown in the loss to the Cougars. He did record his second 300-yard passing game in his last three tilts. This has resulted as the passing volume has increased at 39.0 attempts per game over that span. It's also worth noting that the Cyclones lost all three of those games as their defense is having all kinds of trouble at stopping opposing offenses. It's entirely possible that Becht has similar passing attempts when the team hosts Arizona State next week.
