Braxton Burmeister - Expected to start Saturday Burmeister (head) practiced Monday and Tuesday and is expected to play Saturday versus Hawaii, Kirk Kenney of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Impact Burmeister exited last week's game with a head injury. After going through concussion protocols, he is on track to play this Saturday. In five games this season he has completed 36-of-72 passes for 263 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions.

Jesse Matthews - Catches one pass in loss Matthews had one reception for 26 yards Friday as San Diego State was defeated by Boise State 35-13.
Impact Matthews ended Friday's matchup with a season-best 26 yards but it was not nearly enough to help secure a win for the Aztecs. The senior attempted to receive passes from three different quarterbacks throughout the game which definitely made it more difficult for him. However, his stats were consistent with what he's notched in the previous four games, so it does not seem to have greatly affected his overall outcome.

Jordan Byrd - Leads Aztecs in rushing yards Byrd rushed for 61 yards on 13 carries Friday as the Aztecs fell to the Broncos 35-13.
Impact Byrd has been the best running back on the Aztecs' offense through the first five games of the season, and he once again led his team in rushing yards as he totaled 61. He is one of only two running backs on the team to score a touchdown in 2022, so he will have to keep up the good work in order to keep his team competitive in games.

Braxton Burmeister - Leaves game with injury Burmeister went 2-for-8 and threw for 33 yards and one interception while adding 36 rushing yards Friday as San Diego State lost to Boise State 35-13.
Impact Burmeister has been known as an impressive rusher, and ended the game with three more running yards than passing yards. The senior kept the Broncos in the game in the first half, but experienced a hard hit early in the third quarter that kept him out of the remainder of the game.
