Starting tight end vs. NDSU Smalls will start at tight end in the Buffaloes' Week 1 clash with North Dakota State, Brian Howell of the Boulder Daily Camera reports.

Impact Smalls only appeared in two games for Colorado last season and didn't log a single catch. Still, he's now slated to be the Buffaloes' starting tight end, at least in Week 1. He beat out the likes of Sam Hart and Charlie Williams for that role.
