Impact Mordecai completed 288-of-443 passes for 3,524 yards, 33 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 12 games for SMU in 2022. He will have a strong chance to become the Badgers' starting signal-caller next season ahead of Nick Evers, Chase Wolf and Myles Burkett.

Heading into transfer portal Mordecai announced Thursday that he is entering the Transfer portal, Matt Zenitz of On3.com reports.
Impact Mordecai should be one of the more sought-after quarterbacks in the transfer portal after combining for 76 touchdowns over the last two seasons after reviving his career at SMU. The senior had made mention of jumping to the NFL but seems to have changed his mind on that statement. Preston Stone (collarbone) and rising freshman Kevin Henry-Jennings should be the frontrunners for the Mustangs' quarterback job in 2023.

Impact Mordecai had a fine finish to his SMU career Saturday, tossing two touchdowns and nearly completing a comeback in the New Mexico Bowl. The senior was without his top pass-catcher Rashee Rice, but still managed a solid outing with his fourth straight 200 yard, two touchdown game. The senior announced in late November that he plans to enter the NFL Draft, so the Mustangs will look much different on offense next season.

Impact Mordecai is throwing for plenty of yardage and touchdowns just as he did in 2021, but his interceptions have continued to be a problem and he has been less accurate as his completion rate is nearly 10 percent lower than it was a year ago. In fairness, SMU had two Power 5 teams on its non-conference schedule, which made for a couple of tough matchups early in the season. Mordecai and the Mustangs open conference play Wednesday against UCF.
