Impact Thompson underwent shoulder surgery in April and was held out of Saturday's season opener as a result. Coach Matt Wells didn't indicate Sunday whether the running back will be available for Saturday's game against Stephen F. Austin, but the junior appears to be trending in the right direction.

Impact Garibay was also a perfect 5-for-5 on extra-point attempts as he enters the 2021 season as the Red Raiders top kicker. In 2020, he was 8-for-11 on field goal attempts. Texas Tech will play Stephen F. Austin next week.

Kaylon Geiger - Quiet day in Texas Tech debut Geiger pulled down three catches for 11 yards on five targets and rushed for one yard in Saturday's 38-21 win at Houston.

Impact Although the production was quite low for Geiger in his debut, there were some positives as he saw the second most targets on the team behind Erik Ezukanma's 10 targets and he also received a rushing attempt. Geiger will have better games and that could start as early as with Stephen F. Austin next week.

Travis Koontz - Four catches in 2021 opener Koontz caught all four of his targets for 28 yards in Saturday's 38-21 win at Houston.

Impact Koontz received the third most targets for Texas Tech behind Erik Ezukanma (10) and Kaylon Geiger (5). This could signal an increase in production as he saw four or more targets in just four games last year. If he continues to see a healthy dose of targets, he could be considered for fantasy at the tight end position. Texas Tech will host Stephen F. Austin next week.

Impact Ezukanma had a great start to the season with double-digit targets for the fourth time in his career. This is a positive sign coming off the broken arm in the spring and with a new quarterback in Tyler Shough. If he continues to dominate the team's target share, he'll have a monster year for the Red Raiders. Texas Tech will host Stephen F. Austin next week.

With SaRodorick Thompson out with a shoulder injury, it appears that the Red Raiders will utilize Brooks for the bulk of their backfield work. Texas Tech will host Stephen F. Austin next week.

Teammate Xavier White was utilized more in the passing game and also had a lost fumble. Impact Shough made his first start for the Red Raiders and it was a successful one while completing 70.8 percent of his passes and accounting for multiple scores. He should become a reliable fantasy starter as Texas Tech will need to put points on the board most weeks. The Red Raiders will host Stephen F. Austin next week.
