Kam Shanks - Scores four TDs versus Tulsa Shanks hauled in 5 of 7 targets for 153 yards and three touchdowns during Saturday's 59-21 win against Tulsa. He also scored a 58-yard punt return touchdown.

Impact Shanks was simply fantastic in Saturday's dominant win over Tulsa. On the opening play of the second quarter he scored a 67-yard touchdown, then later in the quarter returned a punt for a touchdown -- his second of the season -- to give the Blazers a dominant 38-0 lead. He wasn't done, as he scored touchdowns of 34 yards and 48 yards in the third quarter, capping off a career day. He saw seven targets in his third straight game and set career highs in receiving yards (153) rushing yards (19) and punt return yards (139). Although these types of performances will not be the norm for Shanks, it's clear that his future is very bright.

Jalen Kitna - Lights up Tulsa Saturday Kitna was 25-for-32 passing for 404 yards and six touchdowns during Saturday's 59-21 win against Tulsa. He also had five rushes for 15 yards.

Impact Kitna was fantastic Saturday as he made his fourth consecutive start and finally was able to lead to his team to a win. He did so by tossing a school-record six touchdown passes, four of which came in the first half as the Blazers' jumped out to a 45-0 lead. All of his touchdown passes came from beyond 14 yards and three of them -- all of which went to Kam Shanks -- were beyond 30 yards. He also threw for a career-high 404 yards and did not turn the ball over for the first time this season. Jacob Zeno's (shoulder) remains a question for the Blazers' next game on Saturday versus UConn, and if he's unable to go Kitna will have the impossible task of following up his career day.

Impact Kitna is on pace to make his fourth consecutive start after Zeno was announced as out for Saturday's contest while recovering from a shoulder injury. Kitna has shown his gunslinger nature in his three starts this season, throwing for 865 yards and four touchdowns to six interceptions in that timeframe. The redshirt junior has clearly shown the capability to throw the ball and put points on the board, but it remains to be seen if he can cut down on the turnovers. He'll get the chance to prove himself once again on Saturday.

Impact Although Shanks did not quite follow up his elite performance last Saturday, he maintained the high volume. He was targeted 11 times versus South Florida, giving him 23 in the last two games with Jalen Kitna. He caught six of those passes for a measly 36 yards, but the volume he has received in the last two games is enticing. If Kitna starts again after the bye week, Shanks could be a beneficiary once again.

Dallas Payne - Breaks out Saturday Payne had six receptions (on eight targets) for 67 yards during Saturday's 35-25 loss to South Florida.

Impact Payne recorded season highs across the board Saturday as he caught six of eight targets for 67 yards. He came into the game with five catches for 54 yards through six games, so this performance truly came out of nowhere. He was helped by Jalen Kitna attempting a whopping 56 passes, volume that likely won't happen again this season.

Amare Thomas - Scores twice in loss to USF Thomas compiled eight receptions (on 11 targets) for 97 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 35-25 defeat to South Florida.

Impact Thomas had his best outing of the season Saturday as he caught a pair of touchdowns from Jalen Kitna in the second half. He now has six touchdown receptions through seven games this season. He also set season highs in receptions and targets, while gained over 90 yards for the second time in his last three games. Thomas has proven time and time again that he is the No. 1 option in the Blazers' high-volume passing attack which gives him great upside every week, regardless of the opponent.

Lee Beebe Jr. - High volume in loss Beebe had 18 rushes for 68 yards and reeled in 3 of 4 targets for 17 yards during Saturday's 35-25 loss against South Florida.

Impact Beebe saw a season-high 21 touches in Saturday's loss, accumulating a solid 85 yards from scrimmage. He has recorded at least 80 yards in six of seven games this season, but his one touchdown in his last six games has hurt his upside significantly. He has a high floor every week but his ceiling, especially with the Blazers' poor record, leaves something to be desired.

Impact Kitna threw the ball a whopping 56 times Saturday and his overall production saw a nice increase. He threw for 384 yards and tossed a pair of touchdowns to Amare Thomas. He also turned the ball over twice for the third straight game, so it was not all great. The upcoming bye week will give Jacob Zeno (shoulder) extra time to get healthy, but if he is still out Kitna would start Nov. 2 versus Tulsa.

He also caught a season-high seven passes, his fourth time in the last five games with five or more catches. He has been targeted 19 times in the last two games with Jalen Kitna, so he may benefit if Kitna starts again on Saturday at USF.

Impact Beebe ran for a season-low 36 yards Saturday, which is not that surprising considering his team fell into a deficit early. He still dominated the rushing attempts among running backs which is a good sign heading into the back half of the season. He should be able to produce more Saturday at South Florida.
