Impact Tuten finished the contest with only nine carries for 34 yards and a touchdown, but he also added six grabs for another 18 yards and a score. He's expected to handle a hefty load in the Hokies' backfield this season, so it will be worth checking for further word on his status leading up to Week 2 versus Marshall.

Impact Drones led the Hokies on a comeback trail after falling behind early, throwing for 322 yards and a pair of touchdowns, but he dealt with an injury early in the contest. It's unlikely the cramps will cause any problems in regards to his availability for Week 2 against Marshall, but it's worth ensuring no further issues surface regarding the exit.

Impact Holloway's status remains uncertain for the entire 2024 season after he sustained a knee injury this offseason. At the very least, the receiver will miss the first game. The junior posted five catches for 49 yards last season.

Impact Even though Gallo sat out Virginia Tech's 2023 season to recover from a knee injury, it is still affecting him, as was indicated during the spring and summer. Without the tight end available, VT's team is expected to have Benji Gosnell start at that position. Harrison Saint Germain, who was listed as co-starter with Gallo, would be the lone backup.

Still, he's clearly healthy enough to contribute as he's listed on the Week 1 two-deep, although he may not be a full go just yet. Gallo is listed as an "OR" at backup tight end alongside Harrison Saint Germain.

Impact Gosnell battled injuries this offseason, and missed a chunk of time in fall camp. However, he appears to have fully recovered from his knee injury and is ready to roll with the starters in Week 1. Last season with the Hokies, Gosnell posted 12 catches for 137 yards and one touchdown.
