Impact Pauling was injured after a missed catch in the second quarter and limped into the medical tent. He was then seen trying to loosen up on the sidelines but has yet to reenter the game and is officially questionable to return. Both Pauling and Bryson Green (knee) have left the game, leaving the Badgers without their top two wideouts.

Impact Wisconsin is expected to shorten its running back rotation against Purdue, and Yacamelli was expected to be a part of that after he's looked much improved in his redshirt sophomore season and leads the Badgers in yards-per-carry. However, the talented true freshman Darrion Dupree was seen warming up with the second team, indicating that he's going to get an extended look against Purdue. The Boilermakers are one of the worst run defenses in the nation, so its feasible that plenty of Wisconsin tailbacks get involved Saturday.

Impact Following the news that Chez Mellusi has stepped away from the program, there are some carries up for grabs. It appears Dupree has jumped Cade Yacamelli for the No. 2 duties in the backfield, suggesting the freshman will see a decent amount of work Saturday against a porous Purdue defense. Of note, head coach Luke Fickell indicated pregame that the Badgers intend to run a two-back rotation, so Dupree's inclusion as the No. 2 back likely indicates he's part of that mix.

Chez Mellusi - Stepping away from program Mellusi will step away from the Badgers program indefinitely, Colten Bartholomew of Badger Extra reports.
Impact Mellusi will step away from the program to continue rehabbing injuries that have prevented him from playing to his own expectations. This means Tamee Walker, Cade Yacamelli and Jackson Acker will be in line to see more touches out of the backfield, with Walker potentially becoming the starter. Mellusi is in his fourth year with the Badgers after spending the first two seasons of his college career at Clemson. Mellusi has rushed 56 times for 232 yards and three touchdowns across four appearances while adding six catches (on 10 targets) for 17 yards.
