Putter comes alive at Texas Open Spieth finished in a share of 12th place at the Valero Texas Open following an even-par 72 in the final round. Impact Spieth got off to a strong start this week with a five-under 67 in round one, but like much of the rest of the field struggled a bit to score the final three rounds when the wind picked up. While Spieth struggled with his iron play at TPC San Antonio, after a great week at the Valspar in that regard, he made up for it in other areas. The 2021 Valero Texas Open champ ranked eighth in SG: Putting, fourth in putts per GIR and T2 in driving accuracy. Things have been a little up-and-down for Spieth in 2025 coming off wrist surgery, but there certainly have been signs of life. Now he heads to Augusta where he's been feast-or-famine recently with two top-five's and two missed cuts in his last four starts.
