T10 going into Augusta Spieth finished in a tie for 10th place after shooting a three-under 69 in the final round of the Valero Texas Open. Impact Spieth needed a good outing after having missed the cut in his last two starts. He delivered just that with another solid top-10 in his home state. While the result looked solid, Spieth was a little erratic much of the week making an eagle and 19 birdies against 11 bogeys and two double-bogeys. The good news is that Spieth drove the ball extremely well at fourth in SG: Off-the-Tee, and that included a tee shot in which he his out of bounds on Thursday on hole 14. He was four-over coming to 16 in round one when he made an ace and it got his week back on track. One thing that is a concern for Spieth is the fact that he was 77th in SG: Around-the-Green. He will certainly need to tighten things up going to Augusta in the short game department.
