Not playing at Kapalua Lowry has elected to skip The Sentry, Rob Bolton of PGATour.com reports.
Impact Lowry is just one of four players who qualified for The Sentry who will not be playing in the season-opening Signature Event. Lowry had never played at Kapalua previously, so it's not a huge surprise. The Irishman is expected to begin his year at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic Jan. 16-19. Lowry won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with Rory McIlroy last season and qualified for the TOUR Championship. He last played at the DP World Tour Championship where he finished T3.

Finishes season with T3 finish Lowry carded a four-under 68 in the final round of the DP World Tour Championship to finish in a share of third place.
Impact Lowry had another strong week and notched his eighth straight top-15 finish. The Irishman didn't take much time off after the TOUR Championship as he played in six DP World Tour events. He was able to finish inside the top-20 in the final Race to Dubai standings after only playing in one DP World Tour event prior to the end of the FedExCup season. Lowry's ball-striking took another big step forward in 2024 and it gives him a very high floor. He will hope to get back in the win column in 2025.

T12 at BMW PGA Championship Lowry finished in a share of 12th place at the BMW PGA Championship after shooting a five-under 67 in the final round.
Impact The 2022 winner of the BMW PGA Championship posted bookend rounds of 67 this week, but was only able to muster 71's in the middle and that left him on the outside of the top-10 in Wentworth. That being said, Lowry has finished T13-T9-T12-T12 in his last four starts and it wouldn't be surprising to see him grab a win before the end of 2024. Lowry is listed in the field for the acciona Open de Espana.

Top-10 in FedExCup finale Lowry finished in a tie for ninth place at the TOUR Championship after a three-under 68 in the final round.
Impact Lowry hit the second-most fairways in the field, but was only middle of the pack in SG: Off-the-Tee. He only made four bogeys over 72 holes, but just did not make enough birdies to challenge some of the top contenders this week. This was Lowry's first appearance at the TOUR Championship. His season was highlighted with a win with Rory McIlroy at the Zurich Classic amongst seven total top-10s. Lowry will now shift his focus to the DP World Tour where he will hope to win the Irish Open in a couple weeks.
