Gets another win Senzatela (2-0) allowed one earned run on four hits and a walk while striking out six across six innings to earn the win Sunday against the Padres.

Impact Senzatela allowed only two singles through five innings, thoroughly dominating the Padres. Things unraveled for him a bit in the sixth frame however, as he allowed a leadoff triple, followed by a double and a walk to account for his one earned run. Still, the outing was impressive for Senzatela, as he has now allowed only three earned runs across 11 innings to start the season. He's in line to draw his next start Friday at Seattle.

Impact There was some talk in summer camp of Senzatela simplifying his delivery and impressing with sharper secondary stuff. He was not a completely new pitcher in his 2020 debut -- Senzatela only induced five swinging strikes on 86 pitches -- but a road win in Oakland qualifies as a step in the right direction after he had a 6.71 ERA last season. We'll see what Senzatela can do this weekend at home against the Padres.

Impact Showcasing his simplified delivery, Senzatela was sharp as he threw 80 pitches and didn't allow a baserunner until Danny Santana jammed a single in the fifth inning. Todd Frazier hit a three-run homer with one out in the fifth, but the right-hander was otherwise efficient. Senzatela shed 15 pounds over the offseason and will serve as the Rockies' fourth starter, putting him on track to make his season debut Tuesday in Oakland. He'll look to rebound from 2019, when he posted a 6.71 ERA and 5.5 K/9 over 25 starts with Colorado.

Angling for rotation spot Senzatela gave up two runs and scattered seven hits while striking out two over 3.1 innings during his intrasquad start Friday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Impact Senzatela looks in line to get his final tuneup of summer camp in Wednesday's exhibition versus the Rangers, which would seemingly put him on track to start the Rockies' fourth game of the regular season July 28 in Oakland. According to Kyle Newman of The Denver Post, Senzatela shed 15 pounds in the offseason and has shown a mid-90s fastball and sharper secondary offerings during spring training and summer camp, but the 25-year-old can probably be avoided outside of NL-only leagues until he delivers quality results in the games that count. Senzatela made 25 starts for the big club in 2019, posting a 6.71 ERA, 1.75 WHIP and 5.5 K/9.
