Impact Perdomo led off the second inning by turning on a Tanner Houck four-seamer for his fifth home run. Perdomo's average against four-seam fastballs thus far is .362 compared to the .168 average he had as a rookie last season. The shortstop is slashing .304/.403/.522 through 41 games, much better than the .214/.333/.274 line he had at this point during his rookie year.

Corbin Carroll - Homers early in win Carroll went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Red Sox.

Impact Carroll jumped on a Tanner Houck fastball on the outside part of the plate and drove it 106.2 mph into the left field stand to give Arizona a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Impact Kelly was dominant Sunday, cruising through six shutout frames to begin the contest. He left two runners on base in the seventh and was charged with a run when one came around to score. The 34-year-old righty has won five straight decisions dating back to April 28; during that stretch, he's posted an impressive 44:8 K:BB and 2.41 ERA through 37.1 innings. Kelly will carry a 2.83 ERA into his next start, which is currently lined up to be at home against Atlanta.

Impact Command was the number one issue that haunted Pfaadt in the majors. He didn't miss many bats, gave up too much loud contact and was 15th percentile in strikeout percentage. The club identified a mechanical issue: Pfaadt would transfer his weight too early, causing his arm slot to drop, which led to wavering command. Additionally, the right-hander had heavy usage of his fastball. "I don't know of anybody that lives at 65% fastball rate and is a starting pitcher and gets away with it for six or seven innings," manager Torey Lovullo said. The Diamondbacks viewed that fastball usage as a red flag, but he could get away with it in the minors. Not in the majors, however, where he lost command and patient hitters waited for fastballs over the middle of the plate. Pfaadt will need to correct the mechanical issue and introduce all his pitches.

The right-hander threw just 41 of 75 pitches for a strike and walked a pair of batters, though he navigated out of trouble until giving up three singles to the first four batters he faced in the fourth. Davies was replaced after the third hit and went on to take the loss. The veteran figures to retain a spot in Arizona's rotation, but he has neither the ratios nor the strikeout numbers to be worth consideration in a majority of fantasy formats.
