Tommy Henry - Recalled for start Henry was recalled from Triple-A Reno by the Diamondbacks on Monday.
Impact Henry will start Monday against the Royals, sliding into the rotation spot vacated by Madison Bumgarner. The left-hander has posted a 6.33 ERA over four starts at hitter-friendly Triple-A Reno this season but also has a 22:8 K:BB over 21.1 frames. Henry isn't a bad streaming option versus Kansas City and could remain in the rotation for a while if he pitches well.

Jameson has labored in his last two starts, lasting just one inning in his most recent outing. He should join Reno's rotation to work on his efficiency. The rotation spot vacated by Jameson could potentially be filled by Brandon Pfaadt.

Impact Walker sustained a forearm injury when he was hit by a pitch in Saturday's game and given Sunday off. The X-rays on Walker's arm came back negative, so there's reason to believe this was a one-game decision, after he played 10 consecutive games. Smith, who has filled in well when called on since being called up from Triple-A Reno, would likely fill-in against Kansas City righty Brad Keller on Monday if Walker remains out.

Impact Thomas belted the second of back-to-back home runs in the seventh inning, giving him two for the season. The results are not there early on for Thomas, who is batting .188 with a .200 BABIP, despite Statcast indicating an expected average of .291.

Impact Ahmed hit the first of back-to-back blasts in the seventh inning for his first round-tripper of the season. So far, so good for Ahmed, who had shoulder surgery in 2022 and has hit well out of the gate. The 33-year-old shortstop is 14-for-36 (.304) with four extra-base hits, three steals, seven RBI and five runs scored. He's yet to take a walk -- Arizona is last in MLB with 45 walks in 23 games -- but his 17.4 K% is much down from 22.2 percent over the last three seasons.

Impact Jameson needed 43 pitches to get through a disastrous first inning and didn't even get the opportunity to go back out. The Padres batted around the lineup and most of the damage came on Matt Carpenter's two-run double. Prior to Sunday's outing, Jameson had allowed just four runs through 16 innings this season. He saw his ERA jump from 2.25 to 3.71 alongside a 16:12 K:BB. Jameson's next outing is currently scheduled to be in Colorado.
