Jake Hager - Sent to minors Hager was reassigned to minor-league camp Thursday.

Impact Hager served as a non-roster invitee this spring and hit .161 with a homer, three doubles, four RBI and three runs across 14 appearances. He'll begin the year in the minors but will be available as infield depth if injuries occur.

Impact Devenski resumed mound work in late March but isn't expected to return to game action until sometime around the middle of the season. He'll continue his recovery process with the minor-league club.

Yonny Hernandez - Moved to Arizona The Diamondbacks acquired Hernandez from the Rangers on Thursday in exchange for outfielder Jeferson Espinal.

Impact Hernandez missed out on a spot on the Rangers' Opening Day roster and was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock before Texas elected to move on from him entirely. The 23-year-old is unlikely to see an immediate improvement with his outlook for 2022 as he moves to Arizona, as he's still expected to report to Triple-A Reno with his new organization. Hernandez will occupy a spot on the Diamondbacks' 40-man roster, so he should at least be well positioned for a call-up if Arizona is in need of infield depth at the big-league level at any point this season. Over his 166 plate appearances in the majors with Texas last season, Hernandez hit .217 with zero home runs, 11 stolen bases, 15 runs and six RBI.

Zac Gallen - Set for second spring start Gallen (shoulder) is scheduled to make his second and final Cactus League start Tuesday against the Guardians.

Impact Gallen was delayed to begin spring training after he experienced shoulder inflammation in the offseason, but he was cleared to make his Cactus League debut last Wednesday. He looked sharp during his 2.2-inning appearance, keeping the Rockies off the board while striking out two in the 36-pitch outing. He threw nine more pitches in the bullpen after leaving the contest, and he's expected to build up to four innings in Tuesday's start. Assuming Gallen comes out of Tuesday's turn no worse for the wear, he could be ready to make his first start of the regular season during Arizona's third game Sunday versus San Diego. Expect Gallen to be capped at around five innings in that start.

Impact Smith made his first spring start in a split-squad game following four relief appearances spent increasing his workload. The left-hander finished up the Cactus League strong with 11 consecutive scoreless innings. It's tempting to view him as a potential starter, but Smith is ticketed for the bullpen. Current rotation member Luke Weaver (thumb) will initially throw in relief, a potential opening for Smith to make a spot start, but the Diamondbacks have breaks in the schedule and don't need a fifth starter until April 19.
