T.J. Friedl - Clobbers seventh homerFriedl went 2-for-4 with one double and a solo home run in Saturday's win over Arizona.
ImpactFriedl kicked off back-to-back-to-back homers in the sixth inning off Brandon Pfaadt by hitting a solo shot that snapped an 18-game home run drought dating back to June 28. After going 3-for-25 (.120) across his previous seven appearances, Friedl has bounced back in his last five outings, hitting 5-for-17 (.294).

Brandon Williamson - Posts another quality startWilliamson (2-2) earned the win Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and one walk over six innings against the Diamondbacks. He struck out five.
ImpactWilliamson got off to a red-hot start Saturday, retiring the first nine batters he faced while not allowing a single hit until the fifth inning. Though the southpaw had only logged one quality start through his first 10 appearances, he's rattled of back-to-back quality starts to lower his season ERA to 4.60 to go along with a 46:23 K:BB. However, he'll likely have a tough time nabbing a third straight quality start considering his next outing is tentatively scheduled to come against the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.

Alexis Díaz - Works for 29th saveDiaz picked up the save in Saturday's 4-2 victory over the Diamondbacks. He allowed one run on two hits while striking out two over one inning.
ImpactDiaz struggled to close out Saturday's contest, serving up a solo homer to Corbin Carroll while also allowing a double to Christian Walker in the ninth, but he managed to secure his 29th save of the season. The outing marked his first earned run allowed since July 3 (seven innings), a stretch in which he's a perfect 8-of-8 in save opportunities.

Brandon Pfaadt - Impressive in MLB returnPfaadt (0-4) took the loss Saturday, allowing three runs on four hits over six innings against the Reds. He struck out six.
ImpactOutside of a miserable sixth inning where Pfaadt surrendered back-to-back-to-back homers to TJ Friedl, Matt McLain and Jake Fraley, the 24-year-old turned in a very strong outing. Prior to the string of homers, Pfaadt had retired 16 consecutive batters, a streak dating back to the first inning. Even with the rough ending, Saturday's start marked Pfaadts' first quality start of the season (seven starts) while he also set a season high in strikeouts. Though Pfaadt has been plagued by the long ball in 2023 (3.4 HR/9), Saturday's outing could be a sign of better things to come for the remainder of the campaign.

ImpactIt'll be a bullpen game for Arizona, with Ruiz likely only handling the opening frame. He's posted a 3.92 ERA and 35:17 K:BB in 39 innings of relief for the Diamondbacks since they acquired him from the White Sox on April 9 in exchange for cash considerations.
