Dylan Dodd - Earns win in MLB debut Dodd (1-0) earned the win Tuesday in St. Louis, allowing one run on six hits and no walks over five innings in a 4-1 victory. He struck out three.

Impact The 24-year-old made Atlanta's season-opening rotation and was finally added to the MLB roster Tuesday afternoon, and he held down a strong Cardinals offense in his big-league debut. Dodd threw 52 of 73 pitches for strikes and also generated 12 whiffs. The left-hander should maintain his spot in the rotation with Max Fried (hamstring) and Kyle Wright (shoulder) on the injured list, with his next start tentatively lining up for Sunday versus San Diego.

Darius Vines - Out with undisclosed injury Vines is on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Gwinnett with an undisclosed injury.

Impact Given that Vines has had success in the upper levels and is on the 40-man roster, it seemed odd that he never factored into this spring's rotation competition in camp, so an injury makes sense. He has an excellent changeup that allows his low-90s fastball and average slider to play up. Vines should be considered out indefinitely until we get word on the nature of his injury.

Impact Elder will slide into Atlanta's rotation on Wednesday versus the Cardinals in place of the injured Max Fried (hamstring). He could get at least one additional start as Fried recuperates, although that will depend on how he and Dylan Dodd perform and also when Kyle Wright (shoulder) returns.
