Robinson Canó - Contract officially selected Atlanta selected Cano's contract from Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.
Impact Cano will join Atlanta ahead of their three-game series against the Mets after he was acquired from the Padres via trade Sunday. The 39-year-old has produced a .149 average with one home run, four RBI and four runs over 74 at-bats in 24 games with the Mets and Padres this season prior to accepting a minor-league assignment with San Diego. Prior to the trade, Cano had slashed .333/.375/.479 with three home runs in 21 games at Triple-A El Paso. Per Jon Morosi of MLB Network, the lefty-hitting Cano is expected to fill the large side of a platoon at second base, with the righty-hitting Orlando Arcia entering the lineup versus left-handed pitching.

Adam Duvall - Activated from paternity list Atlanta reinstated Duvall (personal) from the paternity list Monday.
Impact Duvall will rejoin Atlanta ahead of its series against the Mets on Monday following the birth of his child. The outfielder has started only one game this month after nursing a hand injury to open July and then going on the paternity list. Overall, Duvall has notched at least one hit in eight of his last nine games, going 7-for-24 with two homers, five RBI and four runs over that stretch.

Collin McHugh - Gets win in extras McHugh (2-1) picked up the win in Sunday's extra-innings victory over the Nationals, giving up one hit and one walks while striking out one over two scoreless innings.
Impact The right-hander kept Washington off the board in the 11th and 12th innings, and got rewarded for his efforts when Atlanta finally pushed across a run. McHugh has been asked to pitch more than one inning in five of nine appearances since returning from the COVID-19 list in mid-June but he's handled the workload well, posting a 3.14 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 18:3 K:BB through 14.1 innings over that stretch with both of his wins on the year. McHugh hasn't recorded a hold since June 5 however, and he doesn't appear to be part of manager Brian Snitker's setup mix at present.

Impact He crossed the plate with the winning run as the phantom runner in the 12th inning on an Austin Riley single. Impact The rookie had a relatively quiet day by the standards he's established early in his career, but he still found a way to contribute some fantasy value. Impact When Ozzie Albies fractured his foot June 13 and underwent surgery two days later, Arcia was installed as the team's everyday second baseman. After generating seven hits in his first three starts in place of Albies, Arcia has proceeded to hit .145/.232/.145 over his subsequent 18 games. Atlanta apparently prefers to keep Arcia's top backup at second base, Phil Gosselin, in a utility role, so the lefty-hitting Cano looks as though he'll get a look as the primary option at the keystone as the team aims to extract more production from that position. Arcia, meanwhile, should replace Cano in the lineup versus left-handed pitching and will likely represent Atlanta's top pinch-running option off the bench on days he doesn't start.

Vaughn Grissom - Climbs to Double-A Atlanta promoted Grissom from High-A Rome to Double-A Mississippi on Monday, Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.com reports.
Impact The 21-year-old will rise to Double-A after he slashed .312/.404/.487 with 11 home runs and 20 stolen bases in 24 attempts across 344 plate appearances for Rome. Grissom primarily played shortstop with Rome, but he also picked up six starts apiece at second base and third base. His ability to play multiple infield spots could help expedite his arrival to the big leagues if he continues to perform well at the plate at the higher levels of the minors.
