ImpactEncarnacion-Strand was limited to just 29 games this season due to a wrist injury which eventually required surgery. He will make up for at-bats he lost during the year with some Fall League games and should head into spring training without any restrictions.

Matt McLain - Will play in instructional leagueMcLain (shoulder/rib) will play in instructional league games this fall, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ImpactMcLain has missed the entire 2024 campaign following shoulder surgery and later a stress reaction in his rib cage, so he will get into some game action this fall to make up for lost time. Barring any setbacks, he should enter spring training with a clean bill of health.

Hunter Greene - Cleared to return SundayGreene (elbow) will rejoin the Reds' rotation Sunday versus the Pirates, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ImpactGreene will be on a limited pitch count after throwing a 52-pitch simulated game Tuesday. As long as he comes out of Sunday's outing with no problems, he'll be lined up to make one last start during the final weekend of the regular season in Chicago against the Cubs. Greene has been sidelined since mid-August with right elbow inflammation.

Andrew Abbott - Ruled out for rest of seasonAbbott (shoulder) will not return this season, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ImpactAbbott has been throwing and will continue to do so in hopes of going into the offseason without any restrictions, but there's not enough time left in the regular season for him to rejoin the Reds' rotation. The left-hander will finish with a 3.72 ERA and 114:52 K:BB over 138 innings covering 25 starts for Cincinnati this season.
